St Ita Holding Her Children

This is an icon of St Ita holding the children God entrusted to her care. In her Monastery she took care of hundreds of orphan or poor children, many of which grew to become wonderful Saints themselves – St Brendan the Navigator was one of St Ita’s children. For this reason, she is known as the Foster Mother of Christ’s Saints. She is a great protector of mothers trying to raise their children as saints.
