This is an icon of the Holy Trinity depicted against the image of a Celtic Cross. Christ’s sacrifice for humanity comes from the Holy Trinity’s love for us. Christ’s suffering is shared by All the Persons of the Trinity, and this is what we wanted to underline by depicting the Holy Trinity (in the traditional manner of the Three Angels) against the image of the Celtic Cross.

The icon is a very high quality reproduction of an original Mull Monastery commission.
It is mounted on durable, light wood, with round edges and a hanging hole.
Our original commissions are unique, never repeated and made using local photographs of the actual geography of the Isles. Most of our colours are sourced from the Book of Kells (made on the Isle of Iona during the Celtic millennium) and we try to combine Byzantine and Egyptian iconography, as a recognition of the historical, cultural and spiritual connections between the Desert Fathers and the Celtic Saints.
